CHARLESTON -- Mississippi County has mobile backup power for emergencies. Now it just needs some places to hook up to.
Danny Harris, county emergency management director, advised County Commissioners during their regular meeting Thursday that he has received a 80 kilowatt generator. The diesel-powered generator was provided to the county through a U.S. Department of Homeland Security grant, according to Harris.
"It's ready to go to hook up to buildings in emergencies," he said.
