CARUTHERSVILLE -- Caruthersville running back Darrell Monroe scored four touchdowns as the Caruthersville Tigers blitzed Herculaneum on Wednesday during their Regional showdown, 48-0, to push their record to 10-1.

The Tigers will advance to the Class 2 Sectional against Crystal City on Monday at Hopke Field in Caruthersville.

Monroe scored the Tigers' first two touchdowns -- an 8-yard run in the first and a 35-yarder in the second.

Caruthersville added a 36-yard interception return by Jamar Oliver to go up 21-0 at the half.

Continuing to pour it on in the second half, the electric Elbie Fonda broke loose for a 44-yard scoring run as well as a 61-yard touchdown dash to put the game well out of reach.

Monroe added the last two of his total four touchdowns with an 8-yard touchdown run late in the third and a 3-yard score in the fourth.
