Water payment dispute heads to court

Customer wants to be able to bow out of contract

BERTRAND -- When a Bertrand woman signed up for clean, safe water she didn't realize she was also agreeing to pay a monthly bill from then on -- whether they used the water or not.

Bob Taylor, 73, said he and his wife, Barbara, 66, are being sued by the Scott County Public Water Supply District No. 4 for unpaid water bills.

"We're going to have to go to court Monday on it in small claims court," Taylor said.
