CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Avenging an overtime loss at home to Cape Central earlier this season, the Sikeston Lady Bulldogs seventh grade team went on the road Thursday and defeated the Lady Tigers 33-21.
"They came out focused," Sikeston coach Keyth Blissett said of his team. "They had already beaten us once this season, so it was a good win for the girls."
Leading the way was Larysia McClellon with a team-high 11 points. She was followed by Zayteanna Williams and Alexis Boyd, who had 10 points each, and Cana Bles with two points. The seventh grade now stands at 5-3 on the season.
Capping the night, the Lady Bulldogs eighth grade team pulled away from Cape Central for a 38-5 win. Tyra Bonner had a game-high 11 points while Hayli Chapman had 10, including a three-pointer.
Erica Peet finished the game with seven points with Jordan Crawford contributing four. Miranda Harrison, Zaqaisha Brown and Keleigh Mallory had two points each. The eighth grade Lady Bulldogs are now 7-1 on the year.
