Armed robbery suspect sought

SIKESTON - Law enforcement officials are searching for a suepect in an

armed robbery that occurred late Tuesday.

At 5:42 p.m., the Sikeston Department of Public Safety was alerted to

an incident at Food Giant located at 700 N. Main in Sikeston.

A man wearing a black leather jacket and gloves and full-face ski mask

reportedly walked into the business, armed with a handgun, approached

the service desk and demanded money.

After employees handed over an undisclosed amount of money, the

suspect is said to have left the area running on foot. No one was

injured as a result of the incident.

As of this morning, the investigation continues. The man was described

to be about 6-foot, 3-inches tall and weighs around 175 pounds.
