WILLIAMSVILLE -- Alta Plunkett, 86, formerly of Dexter, died Nov. 12, 2011, at her home.
Born Dec. 6, 1924, at Atkins, Ark., to the late Lawrence Wade Duvall and Zettie Virden Duvall, she was a homemaker and a member of the White Oak General Baptist Church near Bernie.
On Dec. 25, 1945, at Atkins, she married Paul Lee Plunkett who preceded her in death on April 24, 1975.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Paul Wade Plunkett, two brothers, Virgil Duvall and Earl Duvall, and four sisters, Gladys Russell, Hollis Russell, Erma Duvall and Nina Duvall.
Survivors include: three sons, Carroll Lee Plunkett of Springfield, Ill., Larry Wayne Plunkett of Jackson and Richard Darrell Plunkett of Williamsville; three daughters, Francis E. Plunkett of Williamsville, Mildred Nesbeth of Arnold and Amanda Stoner of Poplar Bluff; three brothers, Forest Duvall of Bay, Ark., and Doyle Duvall and Jerry Duvall of Marked Tree, Ark.; two sisters, Geraldine Hawkins of Marked Tree and Nancy Grogan of Jonesboro, Ark.; and 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from noon until time of services at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter with the Revs. Eddie Hawkins and Nathan Coleman officiating.
Burial will follow in the Sycamore Cemetery.
