NEW HAMBURG -- Anna Louise Glastetter, 97, of New Hamburg, died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, at the Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Feb. 14, 1914, at New Hamburg, the daughter and one of 10 children of Joe and Sophie Gosche Westrich, Anna was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg and the St. Ann Sodality. She loved to play bingo and cards.
On March 5, 1935, at New Hamburg, she married Bernard "Barney" Glastetter who preceded her in death on May 15, 1989.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Calvin Glastetter; a daughter, Rose "Tootie" Blattel; and a son-in-law, Billy Chapman.
Survivors include: three sons and four daughters-in-law, Melvin and Cecilia Glastetter, Virgil and Sandy Glastetter and Mike and Debbie Glastetter of New Hamburg and Jackie Glastetter of Peoria, Ill.; a daughter and two son-in-law, Vickie and Jim Eftink of Oran and Norman Blattel of Scott City; and 23 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Parish prayers will begin at 7 p.m. followed by a prayer service by the Knights of Columbus Council 6420 of Scott City.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Michael John Glastetter and the Rev. Michael Casteel assisting.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
