BLOOMFIELD -- Edward Dallas McRoy, 82, died Nov. 16, 2011, at his home.
Born Aug. 24, 1929, in Bloomfield, to the late Bud and Ollie B. Pruitt McRoy, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as an airplane mechanic during the Korean War. He was a retired truck driver and had served as an alderman for the city of Bloomfield in 1990.
In 1948, he married Gloria Jean Becraft who survives of the home.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Dallas and Linda McRoy of Bloomfield; two daughters, Teresa Barnes and Darlene Bowling of Bloomfield; and seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one great-grandson.
Services were conducted today at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Bob Holland officiating.
Burial will be at the Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield.
