SIKESTON -- Sylvester Elfrink, 89, died Nov. 23, 2011, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.
Born Nov. 30, 1921, at Leopold, to the late John Herman and Mary Hulshof Elfrink, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, co-owner of Elfrink Truck Lines for 40 years, a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Advance for 56 years and a current member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sikeston.
On June 18, 1947, at Leopold, he married Anna Reagan who survives of the home.
Survivors include: a son, Mark Elfrink of St. Louis; two daughters, Jane Eaves of Sikeston and Polly Bradford of Wauseon, Ohio; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today, with parish prayers at 7:30 p.m., at the Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Advance with the Revs. Randy Tochrop and Robert Landewe officiating.
Burial with full military rites will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
