BENTON -- Buren Lee, 86, formerly of Sikeston and Poplar Bluff, died Nov. 23, 2011, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born July 5, 1925, in Campbell, to the late Earl and Hazel Northington Lee, he was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Benton, and was a former member of First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff where he served as a deacon. After 42 years, he retired from the Missouri Highway Department where he served as district supervisor in 16 counties.

On Dec. 14, 1946, at Piggott, Ark., he married Juanita Mae Herndon, who survives.

Other survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Janet Lee and Sterl Kline of Benton; one son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Susan Lee of Columbia; and one granddaughter, Rachel Lee Kline of Benton.

Funeral services were Sunday at Unity Baptist Church in Benton with the Rev. Dennis Lowe officiating.

Burial followed at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Morley under the direction of Cotrell Funeral Service in Poplar Bluff.
