EAST PRAIRIE -- Imogene Mayabb, 84, died at 7:50 a.m. Nov. 30, 2011, in the Bertrand Retirement Home.
Born July 19, 1927, in Calloway County, Ky., to the late Con and Esta Mae Tripp Childers, she lived most of her life in Mississippi County and was of the Baptist belief.
On May 19, 1946, she married Harry "Tater" Mayabb who preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 2003.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Gary Mayabb and Larry Mayabb, one infant daughter, two brothers, Robert Childers and Larry Childers, and two grandchildren, David Matthew Mayabb and Christy Lynn Thurman.
She is survived by: two sons, Harry Wayne Mayabb and Terry Mayabb of East Prairie; one daughter, Sherry Thurman of East Prairie; one brother, Earl Childers of East Prairie; two sisters, Dorothy Brown of the state of North Carolina and Annie Davis of East Prairie; and 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled after 5 p.m. Saturday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday with Jon Archie officiating.
Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Nick Thurman, Randy Johnson, Brent Mayabb, Thomas Mayabb, Scotty Carey and Cory Carey.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Jamie Mayabb, Larry Mayabb, Smoky O'Connor, Billy Don Jackson and Josh Stortz.
