NEW MADRID -- The Sikeston eighth grade basketball team improved to 6-0 on the season with a 42-26 road win over New Madrid County Central on Thursday night.
Sikeston trailed 16-14 at the half but the Bulldogs outscored the Eagles 18-5 in the third quarter to put themselves comfortably in front 32-21 and never looked back.
Jaylen Mallory had 13 to pace the Bulldogs while Dominique Dyes added 11.
Sikeston will be back in action on Monday when they host Poplar Bluff.

NEW MADRID -- The Sikeston Bulldogs couldn't overcome a slow third quarter in a 49-41 loss to New Madrid County Central on Thursday night.
Sikeston trailed 19-18 at the half but NMCC came out of the locker rooms and outscored the Bulldogs 18-9 to gain a 37-27 lead. Sikeston cut the lead in the fourth but NMCC was able to hold on for the win.
Sikeston (5-2) was led by Jaden Lane's 22 points.
The Bulldogs will be back in action when they host Poplar Bluff on Monday night.
