DEXTER -- Thelma L. Lindsay, 92, died Dec. 10, 2011, at the Golden Living Center in Dexter.

Born Feb. 27, 1919, in Essex, to the late Albert Creed and Mary Swinger Creed, she was a former licensed practical nurse at Vintage Villa Nursing Home in Dexter and a member of the Taylor General Baptist Church in Essex.

On Sept. 28, 1934, in Piggott, Ark., she married Thelmer Lindsay, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 7, 1960.

She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Norma Cox and Celia Peck; one brother, Walter Creed; and one sister, Chloteel Middleton.

Survivors include: one son, Harold Lindsay of Dexter; one sister, Lucille Lawrence of Windfall, Ind.; and eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

Services were conducted today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter with the Rev. Dewight Hensley officiating.

Burial followed in the Dexter Cemetery.
