CHARLESTON -- Inez Tate Ellis, 85, died Dec. 9, 2011, at her home.
Born Dec. 21, 1925, in Gurdon, Ark., to the late Leonard and Emma Roberts Tate, she had lived in Missouri since 1947 and was a member of the St. Henry's Catholic Church in Charleston.
On Nov. 29, 1947, she married Joseph Ellis Jr. who preceded her in death on Oct. 8, 2001.
She is survived by: three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Loubertha Hollomon of Charleston, Joseph and Winda Ellis III of Bellwood, Ill., and Franklin and Sylvia Ellis Sr. of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Lottie Mae Brown of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Narda Jo Ellis of Charleston; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-7 p.m. today at the Williams Funeral Chapel in Charleston. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Henry's Catholic Church with the Rev. Glenn Eftink officiating.
Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Charleston with the Williams Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
