MORLEY -- Carl Carpenter, 68, died Dec. 12, 2011, at St. John's Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.
Born Oct. 15, 1943, in Dover, Ark., son of the late Raymond and Gladys Gunter Carpenter, he was a member of Church of Christ in Morley, a veteran of the U.S. Navy and had worked for Wheeler Truck and Trailer in Morley.
On Nov. 20, 1965, he married Carolyn Starkey who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, Tim Carpenter of Bertrand and Scott Carpenter of Sikeston; one daughter, Carla Allen of Morley; five brothers, Floyd Carpenter of Kevil, Ky., Euel Carpenter of Bloomfield, Larry Carpenter and Randy Carpenter of Bell City and Jerry Carpenter of Advance; three sisters, Shirley Kelley of Wycliffe, Ky., Connie Wyrick of the state of Florida and Denise Long of Bell City; and four grandchildren, Kate Shaw of Mexico, Mo., Jennifer Carpenter of Vanduser and Carson Allen and Kara Allen of Morley.
Visitation is scheduled from 5 p.m. until time of services at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. Bill Bradley, pastor of the Morley Church of Christ, will officiate.
Burial with full military honors will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
