POPLAR BLUFF -- Marcus Darnell McFarland, 29, died Dec. 11, 2011, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Born June 9, 1982, in Blytheville, Ark., to DeTroy McFarland of Chicago and Marie Jones McFarland Jordan of Cape Girardeau, he was a 2000 graduate of New Madrid County Central High where he was active in track and wrestling. He attended Paducah Technical College and was a self-employed electrician.

In addition to his parents he is survived by: two sons, Marcus Darnell McFarland Jr. and Makel Dmari McFarland of Poplar Bluff; one daughter, Le'Aerea McFarland of Atlanta, his stepfather, Robert Jordan of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Rodney McFarland of Kennett and Derrick McFarland and Jeffrey McFarland of Cape Girardeau; four sisters, Lekesha Moss and Kenyetta McFarland of Poplar Bluff, Shanika Newsom of Cape Girardeau and Nakia McFarland of Harker Heights, Texas; two stepsisters, Jacqueline Jordan and Danielle Jordan of Portageville; maternal grandmother, Pearline Jones of Poplar Bluff; and paternal grandfather, Willie McFarland of Hickman, Ky.

Visitation is scheduled from noon until time of services at 1 p.m. Saturday at the New Life Pentecostal Power Deliverance Temple in Caruthersville with the Rev. Tommy Cobb, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in Morgan Ridge Cemetery in Caruthersville.

The Williams Funeral Home of Howardville in charge of arrangements.
