CAPE GIRARDEAU -- John Ace Hensley, 80, died Dec. 25, 2011, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Nov. 14, 1931, in Fornfelt, to the late Marshall and Eva Davidson Hensley, he served during the Korean War in the U.S. Army as a demolitions expert. He retired as printing press operator from the St. Louis Post Dispatch in 1982 and was a member of Unity Baptist Church.
On April 5, 1953, in Illmo, he married Peggy Foulk who preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Dale Hensley, three sisters, Mary Lou Hensley, Anne Vincent and Ruth Welker, and a brother, "Clif" Hensley.
Survivors include: a son and daughter-in-law, John David and Laura Hensley of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.; a daughter and son-in-law, Jo Donna and Charles Priest of Marble Hill; two brothers, Jim Hensley and Toney Hensley; and nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. today at the Amick Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Visitation will continue from 9 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Unity Baptist Church in Benton with Dennis Lowe officiating.
Burial with full military honors will be at Unity Baptist Church Cemetery.
