CHAFFEE -- Bobby "Bob" Tankersley, 75, died Dec. 27, 2011, at the Chaffee Nursing Center.
Born Nov. 1, 1936, in Bessville, to the late Earnest and Mildred Lincoln Tankersley, he was of the Baptist belief and worked at the Florsheim Shoe Company as a cutter until he retired.
On Aug. 13, 1957, he married Wanda Sullivan who survives.
Other survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Celinda Tankersley of Marble Hill and Scott and Beth Tankersley of Glen Allen; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jeannie and David Groves of Perryville and Tina and Ricco Readus of Jackson; five brothers, Bill Tankersley of Delta, Jerry Tankersley of Perkins, Doyle Tankersley of Jefferson City, Jimmy Tankersley of Millersville and Danny Tankersley of Gordonville; three sisters, Joyce Spane of Chaffee, Lois Douglas of Gordonville and Tina Minner of Jackson; and nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son and one daughter.
Visitation is scheduled after 5 p.m. Thursday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Rick Crump officiating.
Burial will follow at Williams Cemetery in Perkins.
