FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Audrey Morgan, formerly of Chaffee, Mo., died Dec. 20, 2011.
Born Aug. 13, 1916, at Springfield, Mo., to the late W.O. and Anna Baker Tanner, she graduated from Chaffee High School in 1935. She was employed by the U.S. government as a munitions inspector (bombs and shells) during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. A member of the First United Methodist Church in Chaffee, she was also a member of the Chaffee Eastern Star, serving as worthy matron and was active in the VFW Auxiliary Post 3127 and was the supervisor of kitchen operations.
On May 4, 1935, she married Chester Morgan, who preceded her in death on Sept. 5, 2000.
Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Roger Baird of Fort Collins; three grandchildren, Deborah Alsko of Richmond, Va., Amy Ehrenberger and David Baird of Fort Collins; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was conducted Dec. 23, 2011 at Allnutt Drake Chapel in Fort Collins.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee until the Chaffee V.F.W Auxiliary service at 1:30 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. The Rev. J. Michael Davis will officiate.
