SIKESTON -- Ruth Garrett Bonds, 80, died Dec. 29, 2011, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born June 26, 1931, in Pontotoc, Miss., to the late Wash and Eugene White Garrett, she had lived in Missouri since 1967. She was a member of Greer's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Sikeston, where she served on the Mother's Board.
She was married to Leroy Bonds, and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by one son, Patrick Bonds of Sikeston; one sister, Gertrude Garrett; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is from noon until time of services at 1 p.m. Saturday at Greer's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston with her nephew, the Rev. E.H. Garrett of Marianna, Ark., officiating.
Burial will follow in Haywood City Cemetery with the Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston in charge of arrangements.
