MATTHEWS -- Lawson Keith "Buddy Boy" Scott, 62, of Matthews, died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, at his home.
Born Aug. 30, 1949, in Matthews, to the late Lawson Alonzo and Birley Evelyn (Bohannon) Scott, he was a special needs child. He was of the Baptist faith. His love of radio and the Oak Ridge Boys made him a joy to know.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Presley James "P.J." Scott, Leroy Alfred Scott, Wesley John Scott and Jerry Lee Scott; and one sister, Linda Joanne Scott.
Survivors include: one brother, Leonard Scott of Thornton, Ill.; and four sisters, Frieda Kelly of Sutter, Calif., Evelyn Polk of Matthews, Jeanne (David) Broadaway of Hobart, Ind., and Vonda (Junior) Keith of Matthews. He is also survived by dozens of nieces, nephews, family members and friends who loved him very much.
Visitation will be from noon until time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. David Cullen, pastor of Cornerstone Church of Bertrand, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
