PUXICO -- Herman L. Campbell, 92, died Jan. 8, 2012, at the Puxico Nursing and Rehab.
Born Aug. 5, 1919, in Puxico, to the late Hobert and Esther Crews Campbell, he was a member of the United Methodist Church in Puxico and was a church clerk for several years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War II. He hauled gravel locally, raised cattle, farmed and worked at Puxico Implement as a parts manager. He was a charter member of Puxico VFW Post 7522 and served on the Puxico School Board for 12 years.
On April 5, 1947, at St. Louis, he married Colleen Pulis who preceded him in death on July 27, 2011.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Truman Campbell and Bucky Campbell, one sister, Genevive Williams, and one grandson, Jay Parsley.
Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-laws, Bruce and Barb Campbell of Puxico and Randal and Donna Campbell of Boonton, N.J.; one daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Allen Parsley of Puxico; and seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday. The Revs. Dennis Doublin of Puxico and David Edwards of Poplar Bluff will officiate.
Burial with full military honors will follow in Puxico Cemetery
