CANALOU -- Curtis Eugene Orr, 66, died at 9:53 a.m. Jan. 8, 2012, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Dec. 29, 1945, in Haleyville, Ala., to the late Curtis Orr and Pauline Ergle Orr Metheny, he had worked as a truck driver and mechanic for MFA Oil.
On June 16, 1990, in Matthews, he married Mary Ann Thompson, and she survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Melissa Pappy of Knoxville, Tenn.; six daughters and two sons-in-law, Wendy O'Quinn and Gina Poe of St. Augustine, Fla., Angie and Jeremy Lewis, Stacy Hart and Jennifer and Nathan Dowdy of Canalou and Tonia Smith of Matthews; one sister, Paulette Cobb of Bernie; and 28 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, two brothers, one half brother, one half sister, one grandson and his stepfather.
Memorial services were conducted at 2 p.m. today at the Church on the Rock with the Rev. Mike Cartwright, pastor of Canalou Assembly of God, officiating.
Blanchard Funeral Chapel of Sikeston was in charge of arrangements.
