NEW MADRID -- Tommy Lee May, 78, died Jan. 10, 2012, at his home.
Born June 26, 1933, in Plainview, Ark., to the late Thomas Henry and Vivian Bittle May, he was a member of New Madrid Eagles Aerie 4209, American Legion Post 595, Masonic Lodge 429 and the New Madrid Presbyterian Church. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and retired as a rural carrier in New Madrid from the U.S. Postal Service.
Survivors include: his wife of 44 years, Mary Ann May of Sikeston; three daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Phillip Cunningham of New Madrid, Lisa and Jamie Walls and Teresa and Randy "Pee Wee" Lawfield of Catron; and six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Charlie Toler.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at the Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday with Timmy Farrenburg officiating.
Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: George Clay Broughton, T.J. Gantner, Phillip Cunningham, Jamie Walls, Pee Wee Lawfield and Eddie Wayne Jones.
