SCOTT CITY -- Led by Sierra Frazier's 19 points, the Charleston Lady Bluejays earned third-place in the Scott-Mississippi Conference Tournament on Thursday with a 77-43 win over the Chaffee Lady Devils.
"Chaffee's a pretty good team," Charleston head coach Josh Thompson said. "They're young. I felt like our biggest advantage was we were a lot more athletic than they were.
"We used that to get up and down the floor and take good shots. Our defense really hurt them tonight."
Taking a 24-point lead into the half, the Lady Bluejays outscored Chaffee 23-20 in the third to push ahead by 27 going into the fourth.
Though the Lady Devils fought off the turbo clock, Charleston was able to keep their lead in the double-digits to hold on for the win.
After Frazier's 19 points, which all came from the second quarter on, Kasuela Cooper had 18 while E'Neikqua Cooper and Dazique Gillespie had 16 apiece.
For Chaffee, Jordan Pruitt scored a game-high 22 points with Ellie Sigman coming in second on the team with 11.
"They play hard," Lady Devils head coach Darrin Pruitt said of his team. "(Our girls) just can't have turnovers and we had way too many turnovers to be able to win any ball game like that.
"I told them when we came out we had to score at least 50 to be able to beat this teams we're struggling to score sometimes."
In other tournament action, Scott Central claimed the junior varsity championship with a 70-45 win over Kelly.
