EAST PRAIRIE -- Carl Edward McLain, 84, died at 2:30 a.m. Jan. 19, 2012, at his home.
Born Nov. 10, 1927, at East Prairie, to the late Floyd Edward and Annie Powers McLain, he was a retired veteran of the U.S. Army. He served for over 20 years during which he was stationed in Germany, Ft. Leonard Wood and at the Pentagon. He returned in 2010 to East Prairie where he was a member of the First General Baptist Church.
On Aug. 4, 1956, he married Mary Frame who survives of the home.
Also surviving are: one brother, James Gerald McLain of East Prairie; and three sisters, Rose Ann Moore of East Prairie, Janet Sazlar of Springdale, Ark., and Pat Delfin of Branson.
One brother, Paul David McLain, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Monday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. Raymond Hannah, pastor of the First General Baptist Church in East Prairie, will officiate.
Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military rights provided by the U.S. Army and the Missouri Military Honors Program.
