ADVANCE -- Lelah Lavern Schrader Harty, 83, of Advance, was born Aug. 5, 1928, at Zalma, daughter of the late Vernie Simmers and Ella Grace Limbaugh and passed away Jan. 24, 2012, at her home.
Lavern retired as a tech from Superior Electric and was a member of the Zalma General Baptist Church.
On June 2, 1948, at Piggott, Ark., Lavern married August Z. Schrader who preceded her in death on June 11, 1977. She later married Paul Harty on Dec. 10, 1977, at Bloomfield. He preceded her in death on Nov. 18, 1998.
Survivors include: four sons; Randy (Linda) Schrader of Advance, Mike (Vickie) Schrader of Zalma, Stan (Angela) Schrader of Puxico and Jeff (Lissa) Schrader of Sturdivant; three stepsons; Paul (Carol) Harty Jr. of Fayettville, N.C., Gordon (Pam) Harty of St. Peters and Gary (Kathleen) Harty of Easton, Pa.; and five stepdaughters; Eileen (Gary) Lafary of Bushnel, Ill., Phyllis (Owen) McGuire of Winchester, Ind., Paulette (Lyle) Johnston of Prescott Valley, Ariz., Mary (Ron) Holdiness of Jackson and Ramona Harty of Cape Girardeau.
Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, 28 stepgrandchildren, 34 great-stepgrandchildren and two-great-great-stepgrandchildren; and one sister, Geraldine Evans of Bloomfield.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Valerie Mayberry, a son, David Schrader, a stepson, Jack Harty, a brother, Fred Simmers, and a daughter-in-law, Rose Schrader.
A visitation will held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27 at the Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28 at the chapel with the Rev. Keith Price officiating.
Burial will follow at Morgan Memorial Park.
