SWIFTON, Ark. -- Martha Jane "Marjane" Malcolm Bullard, 74, passed away Jan. 24, 2012, at St. Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro after a brief illness.
She was born June 12, 1937, in Sikeston, Mo., to Pleas and Virginia Malcolm. A graduate of Sikeston High School, Marjane met and married Jan Bullard while they both attended Arkansas State College in Jonesboro. She taught math in Arizona, New Mexico, Missouri, Arkansas, California, South Carolina, Texas and Germany over a career spanning 30 years. She retired to Swifton and enjoyed taking graduate classes at ASU while living at the Bullard Family home with husband, Jan, and sister-in-law, Kay Owens. She greatly enjoyed the company and assistance of her friend, Marie Baker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jan Bullard, a sister, Virginia Ann Malcolm, her father, Pleas Malcolm, and mother, Virginia Malcolm, and her mother-in-law, Edith Bullard, and father-in-law, Dudley Bullard.
Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Ann Carder Jackson and Randy and Nikki Bullard; a granddaughter, Samantha Summers, and her husband, Shane; a brother and sister-in-law, Allen and Carolyn Malcolm; a sister-in-law, Kay Owens; a brother-in-law, Sjon Bullard; and a great many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and classmates.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday Feb. 4, 2012, at the Swifton United Methodist Church.
Local arrangements were entrusted to Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
