BERTRAND, Neb. -- Bobby Dale Mainord, 75, died Jan. 21, 2012, in Idaho.
Born March 8, 1936, at Matthews, Mo., to the late Jim and Lorene Dowdy Mainord, he was raised by his late aunt and uncle, Val and Lucinda Mainord Williams after his mother died of pneumonia shortly after his birth.
A graduate of Matthews High School, his work in the cotton gin industry took him first to California to live in the early 1960s and then to Mississippi in the early 1970s. He later moved to Bertrand, Neb., where he worked for Phelps County.
He first married Letta Faye Knuckles. While living in Nebraska he married Edna Rasmussen who preceded him in death.
Also preceding him in death were three brothers, J.W. Mainord, Carl Mainord and Jimmy Mainord, one sister, Kathleen Mainord Harbison, and Billy Val Williams, with whom he was raised.
Survivors include: three children, David Mainord of the state of Idaho and Valerie Mainord and Kelly Mainord of the state of California; one brother, Albert "Dick" Mainord of Arlington, Ky.; one sister, Sarah Mainord Thompson of Matthews; stepchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation services were held in Idaho
A memorial service in Matthews will be held at a later date.
