Risco scores 117; Oran and Kelly fall

RISCO -- The Risco Tigers put six players in double figures and rolled to a Homecoming win 117-56 over Southland on Friday night.

Risco led 32-11 after one quarter and 64-36 at halftime before building a huge 106-46 lead after three quarters.

"It was Homecoming so it was good to see us get a big lead early," said Risco coach Brandon Blankenship. "Our intensity was good and we came out with a lot of fire. When we have everybody clicking, we can be pretty tough."

Chris Pavy led Risco with 24 points while Jeremey Fowler had 22. Luke Bixler (19), Matt Cummins (16), Austin White (15) and Jordon Pavy (11) all finished in double figures as well.

With the win the Tigers improved to 14-2 and 6-1 in the Tri-County Conference. Risco will play their last conference game of the season on Tuesday when they travel to North Pemiscot.

Risco also won in junior varsity action, downing Southland 75-23. Brandon Bixler had 29 to lead Risco (7-4, 6-1) while Cody Young finished with 22.

Leopold 67, Oran 65

LEOPOLD -- The Oran Eagles put together a furious fourth quarter rally but came up short against Leopold 67-65 on the road Friday.

Oran trailed 54-40 after three quarters, but outscored the Wildcats 25-13 in the final frame.

Alex Heuring led Oran (11-7) with 28 points while Adam Schaefer finished with 13.

OAK RIDGE -- The Kelly Hawks suffered a road loss to Oak Ridge 79-52 on Friday night.

Oak Ridge built a 32-24 lead at the half and continued to extend their lead in the second half.

Kelly (2-13) was led in scoring by Ian Householder's 17 points while Gaven Ray tallied 12.

Oak Ridge placed four in double figures, led by Ryan Below's 22 points.

Dominique Porter scored 23 to lead the Braves while the Red Devils fell to 9-8 on the season.
