Scott Central blows out Kelly; Risco tops North Pemiscot

BENTON -- The Scott County Central Braves rolled past Kelly 88-44 on the road Tuesday night.

Scott Central raced out to a 25-11 lead after one quarter and built a 48-21 lead at the half.

Dominique Porter scored 22 to lead the Braves (12-7) while LaMarcus Steward added 19, Antonio Johnson 16 and Larandis Banks 12.

Ian Householder led Kelly (2-14) with 11 while Brent Forck added 10.

Risco 92, North Pemiscot 73

WARDELL -- The Risco Tigers improved to 15-2 on the season and finished 7-1 in the Tri-County Conference with a 92-73 road win over North Pemiscot on Tuesday night.

Risco held a slim 19-18 lead after one quarter and led 44-36 at the half before slowly pulling away in the second half.

"North Pemiscot came out strong to start," said Risco coach Brandon Blankenship. "We gave a good effort but we still have some fine tuning to do."

Luke Bixler led Risco with 23 points while Chris Pavy added 18.

Jordon Pavy scored 11 of his 16 total points in the second quarter which sparked a 13-0 run and the Tigers held at least an eight point lead the rest of the game.

Risco will be back in action on Friday when they host Richland.

The Tigers also won the junior varsity game 49-35 behind Brandon Bixler's 23 points. Risco is now 8-4.

JACKSON -- Landon Robert scored 20 points to lead Scott City to a 66-47 road victory over Saxony Lutheran.

Zach Cotner and Ryan Brock both added 14 points for Scott City (14-6). Cotner also had 10 rebounds, while Jesse Sanders had five assists.

Clayton Carver netted 14 points, while Gabe Bohnert had 10 for the Crusaders.

PATTON -- The Oak Ridge Blue Jays snuck past Chaffee 31-30 in the semifinals of the Mississippi Valley Conference Tournament on Tuesday night at Meadow Heights.

Ryan Below scored 12 points in Oak Ridge's victory.

The Blue Jays outscored the Red Devils by three points in the final quarter.

Peyton Montgomery paced Chaffee with 10 points.

Leopold, the top seed, got 37 points from junior Kyle Stroder in its 81-58 win over Zalma.

BENTON -- Led by Bridgette Chandler's 17 points, the Kelly Lady Hawks defeated Caruthersville 63-31 on Tuesday at Kelly High School.

"I'm proud of the effort," said Kelly coach Rod McQuerter. "They had a positive attitude, played hard and played as a team."

The Lady Hawks put up 20 points in each of the first two quarters to go up 40-15 at the half before outscoring the Lady Tigers 23-16 in the second half to hold on for the win.

Behind Chandler's 17 point effort, Logan Ivie and Samantha Ratledge had 10 and nine points respectively.
