CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Finley Robert Williams, 76, formerly of Sikeston and East Prairie, died at 10:25 p.m. Feb. 3, 2012, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Dec. 2, 1935, in the Dorena community near East Prairie, to the late Gough and Birdie Zook Williams, he had lived in Cape Girardeau for the past year. He was a retired farmer and also retired from the Sikeston Public Schools as a janitor. He was of the Pentecostal belief.
He is survived by: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Larry Chadd Williams of Cape Girardeau and George and Sandra Williams of Houston, Mo.; three daughters and one son-in-law, Stephanie Rule of Murray, Ky., Tamera White of East Prairie and Sherry and Rafael Garcia of Arnold; one brother, Alton Clark of Chattanooga, Tenn.; one sister, Judy Garrett of Sikeston; and 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Betty McGill, six brothers, Lloyd Ray, James Harold, Paul Sherman, Lindy Elzie, Johnny Lee and Willie Edward Williams, and one great-grandson, Clayton Meeks.
Visitation is scheduled from noon until time of services at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie with Mike Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Coady Rule, George "Bub" Williams, Tyler Witty, Alexander Redfering, Johnny McGill, Larry Williams, Chad Webb and George Williams.
