PORTAGEVILLE -- Marie V. Tribble, 91, died Feb. 3, 2012, at the Twin Rivers Hospital in Kennett.
Born May 8, 1920, in Portageville, to the late James and Bertha Townsend Black, she was a member of the Apostolic Truth Tabernacle Church.
On May 30, 1937, she married Gilbert James Gribble who preceded her in death on Oct. 13, 2002.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Inez Laverne Tribble, three brothers, George Black, James Black Jr. and Earl Townsend, two sisters, Emma Black and Clarcy Mae Thunbo, and three great-grandchildren, King James Tribble, Joshua Davis and Tyrone Fowler.
Survivors include: four sons and two daughters-in-law, the Rev. Gilbert "Wayne" and Diane Tribble of Austin, Texas, Edward and Judy Tribble of Kennett and Gregory Tribble and Jonathan Dowler of Portageville; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Shelbia Robbins of Kennett, Geraldine and Vernon Purser of Senath, and Bonnie and Don Harris, Ila Tribble and Barbara and Danny Eagle of Portageville; and 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted today at the Apostolic Truth Tabernacle Church with A.R. Gentry, pastor, and the Rev. Vernon Purser officiating.
Burial followed in the Portageville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Travis Harris, Joe Tribble, Farron Fowler, Shane Williams, Jordan Davis and Kevin Fowler.
The DeLisle Funeral Home of Portageville was in charge of arrangements.
