JEFFERSON CITY -- George Wilson Shelby, 26, formerly of Charleston and Columbia, died Feb. 3, 2012, in Jefferson City.
Born Aug. 8, 1985, in Cape Girardeau, to Roy Baker and Frances Wilson Shelby of Phoenix, he was a graduate of Rock Bridge High School in Columbia, had attended Westminster College in Fulton and was currently a student at Metro Business College in Jefferson City. He had been a volunteer of the Missouri United Methodist Church in Columbia.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by: his grandparents, Mary Kay Wilson of Paradise Valley, Ariz., and Elizabeth Shelby of Milwaukee; and a sister and brother-in-law, Kate and Kevin Stull.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, F.M. Wilson, and paternal grandparents, George U. Shelby Jr. and Janice Baker Shelby.
Visitation will be held from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Friday at the Missouri United Methodist Church in Columbia.
