ARNOLD -- Clarence Fred "Ratchet" Davis, 57, formerly of New Madrid County, died Feb. 6, 2012, in St. Louis.

Born Feb. 3, 1955, in East Prairie to Mary "Polly" Organ Davis of New Madrid and the late Jessie D. Davis, he lived in New Madrid County most of his life and was a self-employed truck driver. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Vietnam War.

In addition to his mother, survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Clarence and Kim Davis Jr. of Springfield; two daughters, Shannon Partee of Hot Springs, Ark., and Melissa Davis of Springfield; four brothers, Jeff Davis of Barnhart, Ray Davis of Maplewood, Carl Davis of New Madrid and Jessie Davis of Vernal, Utah; one sister, Mildred Wright of Arnold; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, John Davis and Sammuel Davis, maternal grandparents, Sam and Mildred Organ, and paternal grandparents, Clarence and Wilda Jane Davis.

Visitation is scheduled from 4-9 p.m. today at the Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road (at Butler Hill) and from 4-9 p.m. Friday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m Saturday in the Shelby Chapel with G.L. Keene officiating.

Burial with full military rites conducted by the Missouri Funeral Honors Program will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
