SIKESTON -- Annise Louis "Buddy-Papa" Davis Sr., 103, died Feb. 9, 2012, at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Aug. 13, 1908, in Lula, Miss., to the late Benny and Rosie Davis, he moved to Missouri in 1935, was employed at Malone and Hyde in Sikeston before retiring and was a member of Bread of Life Ministries in Parma.
He is survived by three sons, Andre "Amboo" Davis of Kansas City, Mo., Robert Davis of Detroit and Joe Davis of Mansfield, Ohio; eight daughters and two sons-in-law, Betty "Cookie" and Mac Jimmerson, Lucille Myers and Lisa and Frank Dye of Sikeston, Katie Mae Davis and Berla Davis of Mansfield, Ohio, Alberta "Susie" Myers of Cape Girardeau, Eula Mae Johnson of Markham, Ill., and Ebony Kitchen of Columbia; one sister, Earlene Harris of Greensboro, N.C.; and 122 grandchildren, 283 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from noon until time of services at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Tanner Street Church of God in Sikeston with Carl Williams, pastor of Bread of Life Ministries, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Simmons Park Cemetery in Catron with the Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston in charge of arrangements.
