BELL CITY -- William Thomas "Tom" Holyfield, 74, died Feb. 18, 2012, at his home.
Born Feb. 9, 1938, in Adkins, Ark., to the late Orvil and Lucy Rackley Holyfield, he had been employed by Waldren Roofing Company, and was of the Baptist belief.
On Nov. 21, 1959, in Sikeston, he married Carolyn Ross, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Patricia Holyfield of Deland, Fla.; one daughter, Sharon Holyfield of Bell City; three brothers, O.V. Holyfield of Rockport, Ind., Rayburn Holyfield of Grafton, Ill., and Roy Holyfield of Wewahitchka, Fla.; five sisters,Louetta Clarck Oliver of Anniston, Joyce Staggs of Booneville, Ark., Emma Hedrick of Russellville, Ark., Barbara Townsend of Dexter and Jane Pickerell of Indianapolis; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Brenda Sue Holyfield; two brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Bob Bradford, pastor of Bell City General Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
