PORTAGEVILLE -- The Rev. Rea Moore, 85, died Feb. 20, 2012, at his home.

Born Aug. 5, 1926, in Chicot, Ark., he was the son of the late Rufus and Louise Jordan Moore.

On Aug. 16, 1947, he married Roberta Morrow, who preceded him in death on May 6, 1993. He later married Henrietta Evans who survives of Chicago.

In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by: four children, Benny Lee, Archie, Julie Ann and Melvin; four brothers, Andrew, Willie, Eddie and Walter; and four sisters, Lovie, Dovie, Betty and Ada.

Survivors include: two daughters, Lucille Moore Chillers of Portageville and Earsie L. Moore of Sikeston; four sons and daughters-in-law, I.C. and Diane Morrow of Chicago, Odell and Otherine Moore of Richton Park, Ill., Elmus and Henrietta Moore of Columbus, Ohio, and Calvin and Sadie Moore of Portageville; and 18 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until time of services at noon Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Portageville with the Rev. James Turk officiating.

Burial will follow at Mason Cemetery in Point Pleasant.

The Richards Funeral Home of New Madrid is in charge of arrangements.
