CHAFFEE -- Jerry Thomason, 80, died Feb. 22, 2012, at his home.
Born June 2, 1931, in St. Louis, to the late Nuble Jefferson and Fern Adelia Parker Thomason, he served 21 years as a member of the U.S. Army serving two tours in Vietnam and one in Korea. He retired as a sergeant from the Fifth Special Forces in Ft. Bragg. He also worked as a truck driver for H.W.I and then Genesis Trucking in Cape Girardeau before retiring.
On March 13, 1956, he married Lola F. Miller who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two daughters and a son-in-law, Carla and Tim Daniels of Raleigh, N.C., and Anita Thomason of Chaffee; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry Dale and Mary Ann Thomason and Jeff and Kathy Thomason of Chaffee; one brother, Wayne Thomason of Hattiesburg, Miss.; and 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother.
Visitation is scheduled after 4 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Frank Burgess officiating.
Burial with full military rites conducted by the Missouri Military Honors Program will follow at Baker Cemetery near Marble Hill.
