WAPPAPELLO -- Beulah Alma Andrews Davis O'Conner, 85, died Feb. 23, 2012, at her home.
Born Nov. 24, 1926, in Wolf Lake, Ill., to the late Aden Robert and Hester Hodge Andrews, she lived most of her life in Dexter and Wappapello. She was a member of the Egypt Community Church in Puxico and a former member of the Eastern Star. She was a welder on naval ships during World War II in Rhode Island and worked in food services in Southeast Missouri as a manager, restauranteur, cook and waitress.
She first married James Frank Davis in 1942. In 1952, she married Vondie William O'Conner Sr.
She is survived by: eight children, Ronald Davis of Sebring, Fla., Daniel Davis of Las Vegas, Susan Davis of Fairbanks, Ala., Vondie O'Conner Jr. of Ratoui, Kan., Michael O'Conner of Decatur, Ill., Calvin O'Conner of Van Buren, Ark., Arthur O'Conner of Poplar Bluff and Margaret Lizenbee of Puxico; a sister, Helen Pennington of Wappapello; three brothers, Cecil Andrews of Wappapello, Robert Andrews of Puxico and Carroll David Andrews of McGee; and nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Crabtree and Lois Henley; and two brothers, Lester Andrews and Glen Andrews.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of services at noon Monday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico with the Rev. Wayne Burchett of Puxico officiating.
Burial will be in Puxico Cemetery.
