ZALMA -- The Risco Tigers tied the school's single-season record for wins on Friday night, downing Zalma 98-62.
With the win, Risco improves to 22-3, tying the mark set by the 1973-74 team that finished 22-6 under then coach Stan Whitson.
The Tigers put six players in double figures Friday, led by Luke Bixler's 23 as Risco raced out to a 30-16 lead after one quarter and led 64-31 at the half.
Chris Pavy and Jordan Pavy added 19 and 16 points while Jeremey Fowler, Austin White and Matt Cummins all scored 10 points apiece.
"This was our last tune-up for districts and the guys shot the ball pretty well," said Risco coach Brandon Blankenship. "We were really moving well on offense but we still have some things we need to improve on defensively. I'm proud of the kids so far, we're just ready to get going next week."
Risco is hosting the Class 1, District 1 tournament and received the top seed along with a bye in the first round. The Tigers will play the winner of Clarkton/Naylor in the semifinals on Tuesday night at 6 p.m.
