City's Department of Economic Development continues to bring new companies into area
SIKESTON -- After two decades, the Sikeston Department of Economic Development has shown results and promises more to come.
The latest big accomplishment by the DED is bringing in a new 50,000-square-foot facility to be located north of Orgill's Mid-America SuperCenter.
"Construction has just started," said Ed Dust, director of the Sikeston DED. "Hunter Equity of Dallas, Texas, is building it for FedEx."
The small-package distribution center is slated to be completed and in operation by late spring, according to Dust.
