Nonprofit foundation will benefit New Madrid County R-1's students

NEW MADRID - Today's headlines are full of the news of budget cuts for education. As a result, school districts are looking for innovative ways to stretch the dollars they receive and to find additional sources for new funds.

For the New Madrid County R-1 School District, this includes the creation of a foundation to support the district's educational efforts. Recently, the New Madrid County R-1 Education Foundation completed the paperwork to become a 501(c) (3) nonprofit corporation, making donations tax deductible.
