CHARLESTON -- Jerry Wayne Rosson, 63, died March 4, 2012, at his home.
Born Sept. 21, 1948, at Lawrenceburg, Tenn., to the late Stevie and Veliah "Billie" Simpson Rosson, he was a 1968 graduate of Charleston High School. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving in the Vietnam War, he was a member of the Missouri National Guard, serving until 1980. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the Elm Street Baptist Church.
On Aug. 28, 1984, he married Catherine Ann Bradley Seay, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are: five sons and two daughters-in-law, Joe Bob and Pam Rosson, Brian Seay, Lonnie Seay, Doug and Nichell Haddock and Jerry Wayne Rosson Jr. of Charleston; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Leighann and Terry Taylor of Matthews and Trina and Charles Thacker and Shelly Seay of Malden; two sisters, Betty Housman of Charleston and Connie Stephens of Madison, Ala.; and 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Mike Rosson, and one sister, Joan Brown.
Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Bill Bradley of Charleston will officiate.
A committal service with full military rites provided by the Missouri Military Honors Program will follow at 3 p.m. in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
