SIKESTON -- Jack Douglas Smith, 60, died March 3, 2012, at his home.
Born Jan. 11, 1952, in Sikeston, to the late Bonnie Jack "B.J." and Wilma Barnes Smith, he served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was a self-employed painter.
Survivors include: one son, Joshua Smith of Summerville, S.C.; one daughter, Tasha Richardson of Summerville; one sister and brother-in-law, Chrissie and Richard Pyland of Sikeston; one grandchild, Jackson Smith; and one nephew, Ricky Pyland.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with the Rev. Joe McCullough, pastor of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Sikeston, officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the Missouri Military Funeral Honor Guard Unit.
