MARCO ISLAND, Fla. -- Abner Mansfield Beck, 75, a resident of Marco Island, Fla., and Collierville, Tenn., and formerly of Charleston, Mo., died March 5, 2012, at the NCH Hospital in Naples.
Born March 2, 1937, at Cape Girardeau, Mo., to the late John Abner and Hazel Mansfield Beck, he graduated from Charleston High School and from the University of Missouri where he was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve and had worked in the real estate division of Prudential Insurance Company for 30 years.
On Dec. 21, 1958, he married Julia Ruth Henson who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: a son, Steven M. Beck of College Station, Texas; and two grandchildren, Elise Beck of Fort Worth, Texas, and Laura Beck of College Station.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston. The Rev. Dan Faust, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Charleston, will officiate.
