SIKESTON -- Kim Blissett may be in the midst of her first year as a counselor for the Scott County Central School District, but already, she's making a difference in others' lives and winning praise for her work.
The high school and junior high counselor was named the Southeast Missouri Counselor Association's Secondary Counselor of the Year. She will honored during a recognition dinner March 20 at the Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center.
Superintendent Al McFerren said the entire school is buzzing about Blissett's award.
