SCOTT CITY -- Gordon Louis Albrecht, 92, died March 17, 2012, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Oct. 5, 1919, in Illmo, son of the late Louis and Edna Roth Albrecht, he was owner of Albrecht Insurance Agency in Scott City and Sikeston and also was a dairy farmer. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City where he was an elder and president of the congregation. He was also a 4-H leader, member of the Optimist Club, Meals on Wheels and a voluntary tax preparer.
On June 22, 1946, he married Sara Idell Crouch, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 7, 2002.
He was also preceded in death by four brothers.
Survivors include: two sons, Ronald Albrecht of Dodge City, Kan., and Walter Albrecht of Maryland Heights; a daughter, Carolyn Stock of Salem, Ore.; four sisters, Gertrude Roeh of Houston, Texas, Grace Sandager of Wheat Ridge, Colo., Betty Schuba of Port Angeles, Wash., and Lou Albrecht of Stratford, Conn.; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two stepgrandchildren and three great-steprandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
Visitation will continue from 9 a.m. until time of services at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Eisleben Church with Marty Hasz officiating.
Burial with full military honors will be in Eisleben Cemetery.
