SIKESTON -- A Sikeston man will be honored by the city's parks division for his contributions to youth soccer.
Jeff Hay was the unanimous choice by the Sikeston Park Board for installation on the Honors Board this year, according to a news release from Jiggs Moore, director of the parks division.
"Hay will be the 40th volunteer to be installed on the board since 1986 when the Park Board began recognizing outstanding men and women who have made significant contributions to youth programs in Sikeston," Moore said.
A bronze plaque recognizing Hay will be added to the Honors Board during a public ceremony scheduled at 4 p.m. May 23 at the Honors Board located near the Ingram Road entrance to the Recreation Complex.
"It is an honor to be included with that group of people," Hay said. "It's exciting."
