SIKESTON -- The YMCA's three-month long healthy lifestyle challenge officially wraps up today, but participant Amy Schaffer said she doesn't have any plans to stop her new way of living.

The 33-year-old wife and mother from Lilbourn began the program through the YMCA of Southeast Missouri the Monday after Thanksgiving, and since that time she's lost 22 pounds.

"I had put myself on the back burner for a long time," Schaffer said. "So being able to go to the YMCA and exercise was miraculous for my morale and personality. I get totally excited when I go into that building."
